NGC 7635 from the Blundell's School
This is an image of part of NGC 7635, the famous Bubble Nebula in Cassiopeia taken with Faulkes Telescope North on October 12th 2006 at 12:26 UTC.
It was observed using the blue filter with an exposure time of 87 seconds (below).
The image (below) was subsequently processed using Adobe Photoshop by Elliot Prior and Harriet Bunning of Blundell's School.
The region around the brightest star was cropped to concentrate on the denser dust clouds near to it and the brightness and contrast were adjusted to make these regions stand out from the background. Then the smoothing filters were applied to reduce the speckle.
Finally false colour was added to enhance the structure around the star and the dust clouds.
