Students Impress at School Open Day

On Saturday 15th, prospective pupils and parents visited Blundell's School annual Open Day. Their Space Exploration Society held an exhibition of activities, including astronomy and model rocket building.

They had booked an hour observing on Faulkes Telescope North, but it was unfortunately closed due to bad weather. However, the visitors were fascinated by the real time weather maps demonstrated by the group.

Several sixth formers talked to the visitors, explaining the process of taking images with the telescope.

Matt Cole carried out live image processing of M76 - The Little Dumbbell in front of the visitors using Photoshop. The images had been taken the previous day by Harriet Bunning and Elliot Prior using the Hydrogen-Alpha, Oxygen-III and Blue filters.
