FT Team Member Presents FT Results and Plans

Fraser Lewis from the FT Team recently attended the ‘Workshop
on Robotic Autonomous Observatories’ which was held in Malaga
in sunny Spain.
The conference was attended by around 80 delegates from as far away as California, Chile,
South Korea and Japan.

This was a chance to discover the latest advances and
research being conducted with robotic telescopes around the world. It also
provided Fraser with an opportunity to present an overview of both the Faulkes
Telescope Project and LCOGT as a whole. In addition, he was able to show
results produced with FT data by a variety of FT users including collaborations
of professional astronomers, amateurs and schools.

Fraser also attended the recent meeting of the British
Astronomical Association (BAA) held at the headquarters of the Royal Astronomical
Society in Piccadilly, London.
Again, he was able to present examples of both his and FT users’ work.

As well as Fraser’s presentation, the attendees heard from David
Walker who presented a talk entitled "The European Extremely Large
Telescope - Fabricating the Mirror Segments".
