NASA launches new James Webb Space Telescope website
The James Webb Space Telescope is Hubble's successor, the largest telescope ever to be sent into orbit. Upon its launch in 2013, Webb will scan the universe for infrared light, the wavelength emitted by the farthest objects in the Universe.

Hubble and Spitzer combine for detailed image of the Galactic Centre
A new composite image has been released of the centre of our own Milky Way galaxy. The image is a combination of exposures from the Hubble Space Telescope's Near Infrared Camera and Multi-Object Spectrometer (NICMOS) and the infrared Spitzer Space Telescope’s Infrared Astronomy Camera (IRAC).
Another superfast find for Faulkes!
Following the request for observations of a possible superfast rotating Near Earth object on the Faulkes website, it has been confirmed that the asteroid, 2008 XC1 has a period of just 6.06 minutes (0.101hr), making it one of the top twenty superfast rotating asteroids known in the Solar System!
