Target asteroid: 2008 LC
Discovered: 2008 June 01 by Steward Obs., Kitt Peak
Approx. Size: 40 meters
-----------------------------------
FIRST OBSERVING WINDOW:
FTN (F65): Jun 11 - Jun 12 (8.00-12.00 UT)
FTS (E10): Jun 11 - Jun 12 (10.00-16.30 UT)
Magnitude: 18.5-18.0
Angular Speed: 11-15 arcsec/min
Observing Advice:
Filter: R
Photometry Exposure Time: 10 sec (many repeat images required)
-----------------------------------
SECOND OBSERVING WINDOW:
FTS (E10): Jun 13 - Jun 17 (11.00-17.00 UT)
Magnitude: 17.8-17.5
Angular Speed: 19-32 arcsec/min
Observing Advice:
Filter: R
Photometry Exposure Time: 6 sec (many repeat images required)
-----------------------------------
Comments:
Unfortunately the path of this object takes it straight across the Milky Way being brightest when it is more or
less on the galactic equator. We therefore have to keep exposures short to avoid overlapping too many field
stars. At least this makes astrometry of the images that much easier. FTS is best placed for observations.
